‘Where Will We Go?’

The stars to the sea below
Bright songs for the old people
Where are we? Where will we go?

See the magic lantern show
Tyrants and swindlers, wistful
The stars in the sea below

Darkness over Jericho
A way of love or wasteful?
Where are we? Where will we go?

By their labour land enclosed
A bauxite mine on land ancestral
The stars in the sea below

See how the mulga trees grow
A competition and a puzzle
Where are we? Where will we go?

Provision made for tea and taro
Room with a fire, healing ritual
High stars in the sea below
Where are we? Where will we go?
