‘Terza Rima’

First searching breath of newborn life begins,
eager to receive the unknown forces
that cast their influence down deep within.

Good or bad inside the blood that courses,
potential lies in wait to make its mark,
outcomes that experience endorses.

How can the choice be made of light or dark,
the character brought to maturity?
Examples true or false, a chance remark.

The final breath fades to infinity,
the cosmos spins impartiality.
