‘Sounding rhymes make for joyful times’ 

Sounding rhymes make for joyful times.
Mr McGee, he spilt his tea on his knee.
I’ve heard about the contrary Mary,
And I’ve looked at Richard Scary.
But oh! I love Mr McGee under the apple tree.

There’s the princess and her pea,
Five little pigs squealing wee wee wee,
And there’s monsters ugly, big and hairy.
Ah! Sounding rhymes make for joyful times.

Three tiny mice who couldn’t see,
A sailor who can see the deep blue sea.
There’s the dog from Donaldson’s dairy
And lots of stories about a fairy.
Ah! Sounding rhymes make for joyful times.
