PCYC youth celebrate Christmas together thanks to Rotary Sydney

REDFERN: Young people from PCYC South Sydney in Redfern enjoyed face painting, a treats truck, a barbecue, and Christmas gifts at a party hosted by The Rotary Club of Sydney on December 11.

More than 80 children and families took part in the festivities at PCYC, which saw more than 125 gifts distributed to the children.

A generous donation from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP), facilitated by Rotary Club of Sydney, was also acknowledged at the party.

RACP recently donated donation of 20 laptops to the club and a refurbished homework room will enable the young people to access a technology many would never have at home.

Chief Inspector Paul Allman of Youth Command, NSW Police, and Cathy Tait, Vice President Rotary Club of Sydney, with young people from PCYC demonstrating the benefits of the newly donated computers.

NSW Police Youth Command, which has a presence at the club with two Youth Case Managers, recognised RACP’s generosity and the contribution made by The Rotary Club of Sydney.

PCYC thanked Rotary Sydney for putting together “another amazing Christmas event” and said it was extremely grateful to Rotary for its “generosity and commitment in supporting our community”.

PCYC works with youth from 6 to 18 years old. Rotary supports PCYC to help build the self-worth and self-esteem of these young people, and to enhance their mental and physical wellbeing.
