‘Let’s all eat well!’

NEWTOWN: Say It with Lentil on Australia Street (opposite Newtown Court House) is a new flexitarian eatery with cozy ambience.

The meals, served for lunch or dinner, are delicious, too – Black Urad Dal with Coconut, Lentil Meatballs in a Lime Coconut Curry, Lamb and Lentil Koftas on a Sumac Yoghurt Sauce, Lentil Jaffles – with several vegan and vegetarian options.

Owner-manager Amrita Ghosh says: “Each dish on our menu has an element of lentils or legumes, which combine with other foods (eg. vegetables, dairy, eggs, meat or fish) to provide meals which are balanced, nutritious and full of flavour.

“Growing up, lentils was a staple in most of our meals. It is such a super-food.

“It is a rich source of protein, carbs and fibre. It also beautifully absorbs flavours from other foods, herbs and spices.

“The idea was to use this versatile super-food and combine with so many other things to create food which is full of flavour and healthy at the same time. Let’s all eat well!”

Say It with Lentil offers something unique. It’s not food you will find in other restaurants. It is across a variety of cuisines.

“The commonality is an element of some kind of lentil in each dish. The other thing is around our philosophy to serve food which is tasty, budget-friendly but at the same time nutritious.

“We all love flavour, but this can go hand in hand with healthy food. We should always try to put good stuff into our bodies. It’s called responsible cooking!”

The eatery opened last month.

“This is our first restaurant,” Amrita says. “The main objective is to delight our customers and do the best we can for them. We will then see how this grows.”
