DON’T MISS: Living with Dementia: A Carer’s Journey will be launched at a special event on Thursday February 20, 6pm, at Paddington Uniting Church.
Many readers followed Alicia Dong’s “carer’s journey” in the SSH last year – profound and moving reflections on love (with beautiful artworks by Gloria Liang).
The 11 reflections have been compiled to create a hardcover book, edited by Miriam Pepper, and with a foreword by Professor Peter Smerdely. The artworks have been framed and are available to purchase.
With thanks to Rob Young for book design.
“This book gives a clear and honest look at what it’s like to care for someone with dementia and offers useful advice for anyone in a similar situation … It’s also a reminder of how much love, patience, and effort carers give every day. By sharing her experiences, Alicia helps us understand the challenges carers face and how we can better support them and the people they care for” (Professor Peter Smerdely, geriatrician).
