The students were also joined by Uncle Sean Choolburra for a cultural performance and dance. He portrayed both old school and new school styles, particularly impressive was his “Gammin’ Style” remake, including select students and teachers on stage.

The school-wide assembly featured songs sung in Aboriginal language in order to celebrate this year’s theme – Our Languages Matter.
A traditional smoking ceremony was performed by Uncle Dean Kelly in order to settle our spirits and pay our respects. The day culminated in a feast featuring a sausage sizzle provided by the Darlington P&C committee and traditional food originating from the Torres Strait Islands provided by community Elders and parents.
