Help make Redfern to Hobart happen

The Tribal Warrior crew will compete under the Aboriginal flag spinnaker as race starters on board Kayle.

The 628 nautical mile course is described as one of the most grueling ocean races in the world. But the crew is perfectly prepared to tough it out thanks to an alliance between Sailors with Disabilities and the Tribal Warrior Association. This partnership has helped hundreds of young Aboriginal people gain formal qualifications and a range of maritime skills.

Koori communities on the easternmost points of the coast will light controlled fires and conduct smoking ceremonies as the Tribal Warrior team sails past.

With members hailing from Redfern, La Perouse, Nowra and the NSW South Coast, this is a way for people to connect with their own mobs and many others along the coast. It will also be a unique way for the public to track the race.
