Australian Technology Park to be sold

The proposed ATP sale has been met with concern by REDWatch which was successful in requesting City of Sydney Council to undertake an assessment of the sale and its implications. It is expected this will  be made public in the next week.

GuidoGouverneur, Wrought Artworks heritage blacksmith briefed Jenny Leong, Greens candidate for Newtown, about the importance of the Eveleigh Railway Workshops. The site’s State heritage listing describes them as “the best collection of Victorian period railway workshops in Australia and are considered to have work heritage significance by curators of the Smithsonian Institute Wachington DC, USA … The place is of international signifcance and is one of Australia’s finest industrial heritage items.”

The NSW Greens announced on 20th January that they will be making an application on behalf of the people of NSW in the EOI process that the ATP stay in government hands.
