‘Temporal Reverie’

The sky once wore a softer hue,
A shade of blue that knew our names,
The wind would whisper secrets through
The cracks in time like gentle flames.

We danced where silence used to sleep
On sidewalks etched with summer’s grace,
The past was something we could keep
A photograph or word, a warm embrace.

Yet clocks don’t ask for our consent
They tick and turn with quiet might,
The stars we knew have up and went
Replaced by colder newer light.

Still, echoes linger in the dust
Of laughter, love, and open doors,
We carry them because we must
The way it was, forever yours.
