Thanks and giving at Alexandria Scout Hall

On behalf of a grateful community I would like to thank the leaders of Alexandria Scout Hall who have created a thriving hub of activity for local kids.

The current crop of leaders (pictured) was recently recognised with a Special Service Award by Scouts NSW.

As well as sharing the scouting program of leadership and outdoor activities the hall is available for community bookings.

At this time of year, we think about giving thanks and contributing to our local community. Please join me in thanking these community volunteers on International Volunteer Day, December 5, and beyond.

And can everyone who reads this think about whether you could also give of your time in 2020. Becoming a leader with Scouts is lots of fun and comes with valuable training that is recognised by many employers.

Before she was Supergirl in the eponymous movie released in June, Milly Alcock was a young actor from Petersham and a student at Newtown High School of the Performing Arts. She now wears the cape of Kara Zor-El, survivor of a destroyed world. Supergirl has extraordinary powers, but the film’s...
