Summer on campus – something for everyone

December at the University of Sydney makes for quite a different campus. The jacarandas may be in full bloom, but in return most of our students have gone off to enjoy a well-earned break from study and university life. While the campus may be a little quieter, there are still a number of opportunities to visit us and our beautiful buildings and grounds.

Students who are looking to start their undergraduate degree next year will be welcomed to the University of Sydney Info Day on Saturday December 15, from 9:30am to 3pm. Students are invited to come along and get all the answers to their course and campus questions before finalising their main round university preferences.

Prospective students and their families can meet our academics and current students at the course advice centres to learn about our unparalleled undergraduate study options, choosing from more than 100 mini lectures covering everything from study options and admissions pathways to understanding how preferences and offers work. There is something for everyone.

To help get the most out of the day, prospective students can plan ahead and create a personalised program, by signing up on the Info Day website (infoday.sydney.edu.au) or downloading the app at the App Store or Google Play.

The Sydney Uni Sport and Fitness Centre will once again be providing their outstanding school holiday program, which has been running for over 15 years. Covering a range of sports and activities for kids aged five to 15, the program provides families with a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where their children can take part in sport and activities, forging new friendships and having fun. To find out what is on offer these holidays go to http://www.susf.com.au/shop/item/school-holiday-sports-camps.

Or if watching sport is more your interest, why not cheer on the Sydney Uni women’s basketball team in the WNBL. The Flames will take on the Dandenong Rangers on December 14 and the Townsville Fire on December 30, both at Brydens Stadium on our Darlington campus.

Finally, we know that many members of the local community use our fantastic libraries and our University Health Service, so we wanted to let you know that these will be unavailable during University closedown from December 24 to Monday January 7 inclusive. However, they will reopen for business on January 8, 2019.
