I would like to let people know how upset and angry I am about the situation in Rakhine state (Myanmar). Reports of rape, torture and murder paint a picture of inhumanity on a grand scale. More than 480,000 Rohingya have already fled to Bangladesh. It would seem that politicians do not know how to stop the terrorism aimed at the Rohingya minority. Right-wing extremists claiming to be Buddhist continue to take land by force. Burmese activitist and leaders must stand up for the human rights of the Rohingya. The Australian goverment needs to support the UN resolution on atrocities – “violations and abuses” – against Rohingya Muslims.
