Co-founder Catherine Keenan reports that two-hour after-school workshops have seen scores of young people engaged in storytelling activities which include writing, collaborating, illustrating and book-binding. “We’re open for birthday parties, too,” Catherine says. “The Factory is a great venue for all kinds of parties – we can cater for up to 30 kids at a time – on Sundays too.”
According to friends, Sebastian, Jayde and Ailsa, the cavernous shopfront on Redfern Street (just near Regent Street) is “a good place to hang out after school”. The primary-school students each have Martian Passports and enjoy perusing the Story Factory’s Martian Embassy and Gift Shop. Shelves are lined with tin cans containing space food, invasion sunscreen, t-shirts, and more!
