The JNCC offers a wide range of activities.

Exercise classes are available for all ages. Register for yoga, Pilates, functional fitness, boxing and power circuit training. Don’t be daunted as different levels are offered – beginner, intermediate and experienced classes. I’m assured by members and friends that centre staff are highly attentive and responsive to all manner of concerns.

As well as the classes, the JNCC boasts a state-of-the-art gym. One of our long-time volunteers has been a member since the centre reopened in late 2016. He is very happy with the facility and says the amenities are “first-rate”. The gym is fully air-conditioned, with spacious changing rooms and showers.

According to the JNCC page on the City of Sydney website, gym equipment includes free weights, dumbbells, kettlebells and barbells, an Olympic squat rack and a smith machine shoulder press. There are Assault air bikes, interactive treadmills and elliptical steppers, as well as Concept2 rowers, Concept2 SkiErg ski machines, a VersaClimber cardio fitness machine, a leg press and chin-up/dip station.

Appropriately health-conscious, professional fitness programs are tailored to individual needs.
