Remember the portrait Elizabeth Arrigo painted of Brendan King a little over a year ago as part of our Story Factory series? At the time, Brendan was just 18, a rising poet from a family of writers who had recently published his debut collection I Live to Fight and was already performing his work across Sydney. He spoke about carrying on his Pop’s legacy, blending his experiences as a boxer with stories of resilience, loss, and community, and encouraging other young writers to embrace authenticity in their voices.
Well, fast forward a year and Brendan is now ready to step into a new arena, acting. The young man is thrilled to announce that he will be starring in a movie set to air in 2026.
“I’ve always dreamed of becoming an actor,” Brendan shares, his passion evident in every word. “This is a dream come true for me, and I couldn’t be more excited to embark on this new journey.”
Known for his powerful words in poetry and his fierce determination in the boxing ring, Brendan is ready to channel that same energy into his acting career. “Both poetry and boxing require a deep understanding of emotion and discipline,” he explains. “I believe those skills will help me bring authenticity to my role.”
Brendan’s journey has been one of hard work and dedication, and he is grateful for the unwavering support of his friends, family, and fans. “Thank you to everyone who has believed in me along the way,” he says. “Your encouragement has fueled my ambitions and inspired me to chase my dreams.”
