Sharing the stories of Waterloo

Frank and Graham have worked on similar projects across Sydney and describe the sense of belonging and identity that is provoked. Their conversations with the people of Waterloo have confirmed what so many Waterloo residents already know. This community is full of vibrant, creative, and learned individuals all connected to build a strongly woven social fabric in the heart of Sydney. These stories, experiences and memories will be documented, collated and lodged with the NSW State Library, and the City of Sydney library network, ensuring the history of Waterloo’s residents is captured for future generations.

Those interviewed so far have reflected on experiences spanning more than 50 years; including memories of Queen Elizabeth II opening the Towers, what it was like to raise children in the area, and the changes to industry and landscape that have occurred. While many of the memories come from the elderly, there are stories from the younger generation too. There is an opportunity for others to be involved. If you or someone you know has a connection to Waterloo, Frank and Graham would love to interview you.
