‘Kintsugi’

God willing
My father doesn’t die of motor neurone disease
But he does

Ask not why
Ask why not

God willing
My mother doesn’t die of a brain aneurysm
But she does

Ask not why
Ask why not

God willing
This little one doesn’t have regressive autism
But he does

Ask not why
Ask why not

God willing
My husband doesn’t have this thing
But he does

Ask not why
Ask why not

God willing
My heart is not broken and uncertain
But it is

Ask not why
Ask why not

God willing
There’ll be an artful seeing
A careful holding

Ask not why
Ask why not

God willing
There’ll be a silvered mending
Dust and tears for binding

Ask not why
Ask why not

God willing
We will drink a loving cup
And know we are whole together

Ask not why
Ask why not
