Homes NSW has announced its preferred partners to lead the Waterloo renewal are the consortium of Stockland, Link Wentworth, City West Housing, and Birribee.
Homes NSW and the consortium now have to finalise arrangements and gain approvals before the deal is really done and no details of the preferred proposal have been released.
The Minister honoured undertakings and advised tenants before the decision was announced in the media.
The first relocation notices have now been pushed back until early 2025. With six months’ notice, the first relocations will now align with the delivery of the 70 new social housing units above Waterloo metro.
Homes NSW is also keen to avoid scarce public housing being vacant in the lead-up to the redevelopment.
