sunny corner, birdsong, cats in the grass,
attitudes and habits to rearrange,
nostalgia discarded, this time will pass,
to take its turn, cast to eternity,
conflicting thoughts converge at an impasse,
don’t look back, override anxiety,
grass is greener where feet have never been,
a swaying tightrope of uncertainty,
square peg is chiseled to a rounded scene,
abandoned in the grass, they crouch unseen.
