On show from October 15–23, 2016, the exhibition is a celebration of the natural world, with artworks representing some of Australia’s best sculpture, ceramics, glass, jewellery and textiles.
This year’s event includes more than 2,500 works from established names to emerging artists.
Curator Lucette Moore and her team have been on the lookout for the eye-catching and new, and have also selected many works with an ethical message or recycled element.
“I can’t think of an exhibition that offers such a diverse range,” said Moore.
Highlights include:
- Charlotte Thodey from Enmore who is renowned for her vivid and bold depictions of fruit and vegetables.
- Paper artist Lisa Giles from Paddington who has produced a work sculpting paper from recycled real estate brochures, which examines real estate as a quasi-religion.
All works are for sale so it’s the perfect place to find unique and thoughtful gifts just in time for Christmas.
Proceeds from the sale of works will benefit the Foundation and Friends of the Botanic Gardens and their support of the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust.
