The competition is now open and closes on September 30, 2013. Prizes total over $300 and the winner’s logo will be featured on all promotional and marketing materials relevant to the Green Square Markets. The winner will be chosen by a panel of judges made up of South Sydney ambassadors and residents of Green Square.
Organisers are seeking the most expressive artwork that captures the spirit of Green Square and demonstrates the thriving community that exists already in the region.
The transformation of the industrial precinct into a vibrant and sustainable urban environment makes Green Square an emerging place of innovative housing design, bespoke business and retail, and creative and engaged communities.
The Rotary Club of South Sydney (RCSS) sees the weekly Markets as a great way to bring business and community together, and once a month a night market will be held to provide live entertainment, great food and family atmosphere.
“We want to ensure that collaborative spaces are established within the Markets and provide the community with opportunity and enjoyment as well as delicious fresh food and artisan products,” said Rodney Yannakis, President of RCSS. “We are proud to say that all funds raised by Rotary through the Green Square Markets will help fund community initiatives and local non-profit and charities.”
RCSS is very grateful to the City of Sydney and South Sydney Business Chamber for supporting the development of this project.
