We work on a strength-based approach and do not focus on the deficit model that is often seen by the wider community. Our organisation sees the importance of sharing what we know and taking action to improve community wellbeing. Employment is one of the key factors to improve the community, as it has a flow-on effect to many other areas, including mental health and emotional wellbeing.
This event was the first of our Information Days and we intend to do some focused days on other key industries, including retail and office work. If any employer is interested in making a real difference and is committed to giving opportunities to our people, please contact me on 0411 282 917 or success@babana.org.au. We are more than happy to discuss options.
I would like to thank each of the individuals who attended the event for their constructive involvement in the day which has given our group members the grounding to get out there and discuss real and meaningful employment opportunities. We will be in touch with each of those who attended and follow up to provide our service. While we cannot promise our candidates a job, we can promise that we will do everything in our power to support them through the journey to employment.
We also have a large candidate base whose members are currently seeking work in construction, retail, government and not-for-profit sectors, and I am happy to meet up to discuss ways of making a difference.
