Thousands gathered at Sydney Town Hall on Monday 9 February to protest the visit of Israeli President Isaac Herzog, part of nationwide rallies across Australia.
Earlier in the day, protest organisers challenged special NSW police powers in the Supreme Court, but the court dismissed the bid.
A very large police presence surrounded the area as the crowd filled nearby streets in a tense atmosphere. Several people were arrested.
