Sydney Kings bounce back with dominant win

The Sydney Kings delivered a commanding performance on November 1, crushing the Brisbane Bullets 116–79 in Round 7 of the NBL 26 season at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. This 37-point victory shows the Kings’ potential to turn their season around after a tough patch, strengthening their position as serious contenders this year.

Looking ahead, the Kings’ prospects seem promising. After a narrow loss to the Tasmania JackJumpers, the team has clearly regrouped with renewed intensity and confidence. With star players like Xavier Cooks leading by example, the combination of experience and fresh talent is building a strong, cohesive unit capable of competing for the championship. Coach Brian Goorjian has emphasised the importance of trust and connection within the squad — qualities evident in this breakthrough performance.

So far this season, the Sydney Kings have experienced ups and downs, but the win against Brisbane highlights their ability to dominate when firing on all cylinders. The balance and depth in the roster are starting to pay dividends as the season progresses.

The supremacy displayed by the Kings in this game was overwhelming. They controlled the match from the opening tip, racing to a 35–17 lead in the first quarter and never looking back. Xavier Cooks was outstanding, scoring 24 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, while Tim Soares added 19 points and seven blocks. The Kings shot 53 per cent from the field and 41 per cent from beyond the arc, showcasing sharp shooting and solid defence. They dominated rebounds, assists, steals and turnovers, with only four turnovers to Brisbane’s 13. The depth of scoring was impressive, with six players reaching double figures and the team executing flawlessly on both ends of the court.

The Sydney Kings’ emphatic 116–79 win over the Brisbane Bullets sends a strong message about their capability and ambition this NBL season. Their blend of skill, teamwork and tactical discipline makes them a formidable opponent for any side in the league.
