‘The Honey Makers’

Amidst the garden’s vibrant, blooming throng,
The bees embark upon their sacred flight.
Their hum, a soft yet ever-joyful song
From dawn’s first blush to the approach of night.

With tender care they court each flower’s grace,
In dance of life their gentle legs alight.
From bloom to bloom they trace a lover’s chase
And bind the earth to heaven with their plight.

These tiny keepers of our world’s repose
Bestow on us the fruits of their toil’s yield.
In golden combs the liquid sunlight flows,
A treasure from the air and sun-kissed field.

O bees, your labour sweet, of love’s own kind,
Sustains the heart, the body and the mind.
