Studying in tough financial times

Redfern and Chippendale have one of the highest concentrations of students in Sydney.

Did you know that with the Pensioner Education Supplement, some students might be eligible for an increase to their pensions when they study?

Attending TAFE or Uni can be a great way to get education which could lead to an amazing part-time or even full-time job and the life you might dream of.

Both Ultimo TAFE, Sydney Uni and UTS all have careers advisors and course advisors who can guide you about what courses to take and what to study.

Some Unis have specific food relief programs for low-income students.

Some stores even give students a 10 per cent discount when you show your student card (the cinema at Broadway for example).

Student discount on Opal cards is actually pretty good, too.

Good luck in your upcoming exams, and go for your dreams every time!
