The hustle and bustle of everyday life
Had me seeking solitude and noiselessness,
Attending my local library
Hopes of relieving my sound stress.
Upon arrival all seemed quite quiet
Searched for a bestseller concrete mindset,
Comfy lounge chair, nestled into a corner,
Buried in the text, soon I’ll forget.
Drifting away with the author’s imagination,
I was interrupted time and time again,
All manner of transmission within the space.
So, I spoke to the librarian, Madeleine.
That wavy dark hair and emerald green eyes
She exclaimed there was nothing she could do,
With keyboards, cassettes, iPads, and soft whispers,
The world doesn’t revolve around you!
