Sydney WorldPride rocked the rainbow

From February 17 to March 5, the largest Pride celebration in the world came to Sydney. The once-in-a-lifetime festival took place over 17 days and coincided with the 45th Anniversary of the first Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade.

Sydney WorldPride featured more than 300 free and ticketed events taking place across Sydney and drawing on the talents of the world’s leading LGBTIQ+ artist and creatives.

It took place on the lands of the Gadigal, Cammeraygal, Bidgjigal, Darug, Dharawal people, who are the Traditional Custodians of the Sydney basin.

South Sydney Herald photographer, Michelle Haywood, captured some great moments from the festival including this shot from Mardi Gras Fair Day. See more of Michelle’s shots, which show Sydneysiders and international visitors rocking the rainbow during WorldPride here and here.
