Get Healthy NSW – it’s fun!

Have you tried and tried to lose or gain weight? How much money have you spent on weight loss or weight gain supplements? Do you want to start exercising but don’t know who to approach? Or how to start? Or what to do?

Well, NSW Health has a free, over-the-phone system that is helping residents of NSW to set, reach, and exceed their health goals.

It’s called Get Healthy NSW.

There are seven programs, including Chinese language programs, Aboriginal programs, programs for pregnant women, diabetes prevention programs and programs that anyone who wants to can participate in.

They have exercise physiologists who can help you design and implement an exercise routine, dieticians who can help you lose or gain weight, and nutritionists who can help guide your food choices and eat what’s right for your health.

Participants sign up for six months of coaching, and at the end of six months they can sign up again – as many times as they’d like.

The Get Healthy NSW phone lines are open Monday to Friday from 8am to 8pm and it’s completely free at the point of service.

Keeping people healthy is much cheaper and fun-er than treating and managing a diseased population, so any benefit to you is a benefit to the community.

I highly encourage everyone interested to participate.
