Glebe, Waterloo, Redfern and Marrickville residents urged to get vaccinated

Glebe, Waterloo, Redfern and Marrickville are at the centre of a Covid vaccine push – with health officials concerned over low vaccination rates and rising case numbers.

Deputy Chief Health Officer Dr Marianne Gale said: “If you live in those suburbs, come forward to get vaccinated.

“Please look out for symptoms and get tested if you have even the mildest of symptoms.”

Pop-up Covid-19 vaccine clinics are open at Glebe and Green Square / Zetland this week run by Sydney Local Health District. Pfizer appointments are available for anyone aged 16-59, and you don’t need to be in a local area of concern to book.

Glebe clinic

  • Peter Forsyth Auditorium, Francis Street Corner, Franklyn Street, Glebe – Wednesday September 8, Thursday September 9 and Friday September 10, 10am to 4pm. Book here

Green Square/Zetland clinic

  • Green Square Library, 355 Botany Road, Zetland– Thursday September 9, Friday September 10 and Saturday  September 11, 10am to 4pm. Book here

There is also a Marrickville clinic, which ends tomorrow, at PCYC Marrickville Steel Park, 531 Illawarra Road, Marrickville. Book here.

Sydney Local Health advises that you have difficulty booking an appointment online, staff can help you when you arrive, and ask that you please bring photo ID and your Medicare card (if you have one).

Counterpoint Community Services has also launched Covid Vax Assist to help people struggling for whatever reason to navigate the vaccine booking process, reduce access barriers where possible and encourage those who are eligible to roll up their sleeves and take their shot.

A helpline and email addressed have been set up to assist with questions.
