Did you manage to catch the Pink Supermoon on April 27? I did, it was large and bright but not pink from my view. For you sky watchers there will be a Super Full Blood (Red) Lunar Eclipse on May 26.

Raising funds, maintaining high standards of journalism

The South Sydney Herald’s Celebrate Community fundraiser was held online over Zoom on December 11. The event to raise funds for the paper was also a celebration to mark the end of the year.

Staunch tributes at Darlington launch

At the official launch of the Darlington village upgrade, Charles Kernan Reserve was filled with a crowd of locals and a palpable sense of anticipation. Today was a day of celebration: not only of the completion of the upgrade, but also of the legacy of a much-loved community member: Trevor Edward Davies (1956–2011).

Stirring up the status quo

The Edna Ryan awards, recognising the feminist achievements of women, were celebrated on October 17.

Open book on life in love

The launch of Dorothy McRae-McMahon’s book, A Life and Death Conversation with Ali, was an occasion for warm reflection. The event was held on July 6 at the South Sydney Uniting Church and was chaired by parish minister Rev. Andrew Collis. More than 100 people were in attendance, including publisher and editor Rev. Dr Ian Price, guest speaker Julie McCrossin, family and friends of the author and the author’s deceased partner Ali Blogg.
